All three major U.S. indexes were off more than 1%.
The S&P 500 was recently down 1.3%, while
the Nasdaq Composite was off 1.1%. The Dow industrials dropped 1.1%, or about 360 points.

Maxar Technologies: The satellite company’s shares rocketed 120% higher premarket after it confirmed that it is being acquired by Advent International. The deal values Maxar at about $4 billion, or $6.4 billion including debt.
Adobe: The company said fourth-quarter revenue rose 10% on continued strong demand for its software and services. Its shares gained 4.8% premarket.
Avaya: The software and services firm is nearing a chapter 11 bankruptcy filing as it looks to move past accounting problems, people familiar with the matter said. Its shares plunged 32% premarket.
Guardant Health: The healthcare company said its blood test for colorectal cancer had shown 83% sensitivity. Guardant shares fell 32% premarket.
American Airlines: The carrier is making it more expensive for travelers to qualify for frequent-flier status in its loyalty program next year, the latest airline to tighten requirements. Its shares slipped 0.2% premarket.
