Newmont (NEM): Stock in the gold miner rose 2.7% in afternoon trading after it agreed to buy Australia’s Newcrest Mining, concluding weeks of talks and marking a move into copper.

Oneok (OKE): The pipeline operator agreed to buy smaller rival Magellan Midstream Partners (MMP) for about $14 billion. Oneok stock fell 8.6%. The target company’s stock leaped nearly 14%.

Sarepta Therapeutics (SRPT): The biotech stock surged more than 27% on the news that the company’s experimental gene therapy to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy was likely to receive Food and Drug Administration approval.

Shake Shack (SHAK): The Wall Street Journal reported that an activist shareholder is planning a proxy battle at the high-end burger chain. Shake Shack stock stood 8.6% in afternoon trading.

Monday.com (MNDY): Shares of the software company jumped 14% after it said it expects a full-year adjusted operating profit having earlier guided investors toward a loss.

Activision Blizzard (ATVI): The video game maker’s shares rose more than 1% after its planned merger with Microsoft obtained a European regulatory approval.
