The largest cryptocurrency by market value stood about 6.8% higher Monday from its 4 p.m. ET Sunday level, crossing $67,000 per coin.

Shares of crypto stocks, including crypto exchange Coinbase Global, climbed.

Bitcoin’s climb has been partly buoyed by the early success of exchange-traded funds that hold bitcoin.

New momentum has propelled Bitcoin higher. The ETFs began trading in January, while the rally gained steam last week.

Bitcoin is a volatile asset that sometimes sees strong swings in either direction on a given day.
