The company Thursday after the bell reported a decline in revenue for the first time in nearly four years and missed Wall Street’s profit and sales expectations. Its stock fell in after-hours trading Thursday and opened lower Friday.
Investors appeared to swoop in to buy the weakness in Apple, as shares bounced back intraday Friday.
Other tech giants that reported disappointing quarterly results were less lucky.
The three major U.S. stock averages in midday trading Friday recovered some of their losses from earlier in the session.
