Homebuilder Stocks Rise After Buffett Unveils New Bet
New house construction by D.R. Horton. Berkshire Hathaway disclosed a bet on it and other homebuilders.
Shares of D.R. Horton, NVR, and Lennar rose in early trading Tuesday after Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway revealed new positions in the homebuilder stocks in the second quarter.

The holdings were together worth more than $800 million at the end of June, a small portion of Berkshire’s massive equity portfolio. Berkshire’s own real-estate business gives the company an interesting vantage point into the housing market.
D.R. Horton added about 3%, while NVR and Lennar each gained roughly 2%.
