Vanda Research on Tesla stock
Companies that were popular among retail investors and thrived during the pandemic have endured some of the sharpest selloffs. Tesla shares are down 66% so far in 2022 as of Thursday morning.
However, the year was hectic and these are the top 10 buys among individual investors in 2022, according to data tracked by Vanda Research. As in 2021, the list is dominated by big tech stocks.
One notable development can be highlighted, and that is Tesla overtook Apple as the most-bought stock among individual investors.
- Shares of Tesla rallied 7.8% on Thursday, rising for a second day and paring a bit of its recent losses.
The electric-vehicle stock is headed for its worst year on record as investors weigh demand concerns and CEO Elon Musk’s Twitter ownership.
