The policy change is aimed at encouraging students and educators to “learn about and explore this game-changing technology,” Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine says in a tweet.
The news came after ChatGPT was initially banned for use in January over safety and accuracy concerns.
The New York City Department of Education has yet to respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment or confirmation
