Kuwait’s Jazeera Air approves $3.4 billion Airbus order

Jazeera Airways’s board approved a deal to purchase of 28 planes from Airbus SE

The Kuwaiti carrier’s expanding its network to include long-haul routes, amid growing interest on long distance flights

The value of the agreement is $3.4 billion and comprises 20 A320 and eight A32 according to a statement, cited by Bloomberg

Companies had signed the pact at the Dubai Airshow.

The airline carrier, which laid off over 500 employees in 2020, now is in recovery mode after the coronavirus pandemic grounded flights, is on the process of rehiring staff who want to rejoin.

As the season is about to resume soon

According to Jazeera’s Q3  third-quarter earnings, company managed to outperform the previous losses, while cash reserves are at an all-time high.

 

* shares gained 15% this year, extending its 2021 gains of 80%
