S&P 500 futures slipped 0.7% and futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.6%.
- The contracts don’t necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
- European stocks declined Monday for a five-session losing streak.
The Stoxx Europe 600 was 0.3% lower in morning trade, dragged down by declines in the industrials and financials sectors.
Other stock indexes in Europe also mostly slipped as France’s CAC 40 shed 0.9% and Germany’s DAX lost 0.4%. U.K. markets were closed.
The Swiss franc, the euro and the British pound were down 0.6%, 0.4% and 0.4% respectively against the dollar.
In commodities, international benchmark Brent crude fell 0.7% to $90.71 a barrel. Gold also slipped 0.9% to $1,669.00 a troy ounce.
Stocks in Asia mostly fell as Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.9% and China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite shed 0.3%.
